Blog Ho!

It's like a construction project with no blueprints. Just keeps changing repeatedly. No end in sight yet. For now, SkunkRatt stuff will be hosted here so I can keep the main blog generic.

GNC

I've not been much of a fan of health supplement stores in the past. Always thought of them as rip offs for idiots. But I guess I'm one of them now.

Since my long hiatus from working out I've paid quite a few visits to GNC. I don't necessarily promote supplementation but these things work for me. While they tend to promote good health and benefit fitness the unit cost of these items are outrageous. The whole pricing strategy seems geared to bulk purchases just to get a good price break.

However, if you do find the need for multivitamins, protein, etc. and you're willing to cough up the bucks then I'd advise you to first become a Gold Card member. Upon doing so, you reap a monthly 20% discount good anytime for the first week or so. The store typically has sale items every month as well so you can apply the discount to the sale price. On top of that, any mailings you receive can also be applied.

Depending on what your purchase total is you could benefit quite nicely. For example, if you purchase protein at $60 which is on-sale for $50 and have a mailer that gives you $5 off $50 or more then you can also apply the 20% discount. This would give you 20% off the sale price less $5. Pretty good deal!

Bottom line though is that you should always check with your doc before taking any meds. Try at your own risk. Buy at your own risk. Live at your own risk.
